The Meddigest Step 2 CK question bank is a comprehensive Step 2 and shelf exam resource built with the flexibility to assist students during rotations. As practicing doctors ourselves, we understand how useful an adaptable study aid can be during this stage of medical school. Join the over 90% of students who save time, excel on their exams, and prepare for residency with Meddigest.
To help you balance rotations, shelf exams, and other obligations, we organized our Step 2 QBank into “Shelf Review” and “Step 2 CK Review.” Use Shelf Review as you begin each rotation to practice questions and review explanations that are directly related to your shelf subject. Since much of it will overlap with the USMLE, you can switch to Step 2 CK Review once you’ve completed rotations to round out your studies.
Access high-yield, peer-reviewed articles for a more rounded view of the topics you’re studying.
With complete QBank integration, you can enhance your review anytime, anywhere.
Optimize your time with ReadyDecks™ — expert-crafted, premade flashcards for instant review — or create your own SmartCards to match your unique learning style.
Take control of your Step 2 prep with flexible review features and detailed performance tracking that puts you in the driver’s seat. Tailor your study sessions to your needs as you navigate clinical practice.
Build a Step 2 study schedule in minutes with our automated Study Planner. Simply insert your available study hours and goals to get started. We’ll help you develop an effective plan that can be modified based on your needs.
Determine your exam readiness and develop your clinical judgment as you progress through medical school and look forward to residency.
Our Step 2 self-assessments are modeled after the real exam to boost your confidence and prepare you for test day. They consist of four 60-minute blocks containing 40 unique multiple-choice questions each. Get an analysis of your strengths and weaknesses, and compare your ranking to other students.
Understanding biostatistics and epidemiology is necessary to review research and the medical literature. These subjects are also tested on the USMLE, in-service exams, and board certification exams. Strengthen your fundamental knowledge and apply it in exam scenarios through basic and advanced vignettes.
HMD iQbank Step 2 CK practice questions and shelf exam questions are designed to be at or above their corresponding exam’s difficulty level to offer a realistic testing experience and quality learning environment. Our shelf exam questions and explanations are oftentimes more detailed than what you would see in a typical Step 2 CK course to correlate with what’s tested on those exams.
Traditionally, a roughly 42% HMD iQbank Step 2 CK QBank score has resulted in a passing score on the USMLE Step 2 CK. However, because the exam’s passing standard was bumped up by five points in 2022, we suggest aiming closer to 45% or 50% in your HMD iQbank Step 2 QBank.
The UWorld Step 2 question bank consists of over 4,300 USMLE Step 2 sample questions written by practicing physicians. This includes questions specific to your shelf exams. We regularly update our QBank to guarantee coverage of the full USMLE Step 2 syllabus.
Shelf or subject exams are a critical part of clinical rotations. Because many of their topics are also tested on Step 2 CK, our Step 2 question bank allows users to toggle between “Shelf Review” and “Step 2 Review.”
Shelf Review categories: Ambulatory medicine, clinical neurology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, and surgery
Both testing modes organize content based on their respective exams. Due to their overlap, completing related questions in one mode will mark them as complete in the other. However, some shelf exam questions offer detail beyond what you need to know for Step 2 in order to meet common shelf exam requirements.
Some shelf exam questions are different than Step 2 questions to help you meet common shelf exam requirements. We suggest using “Shelf Review” mode as you complete each shelf subject, which will help you prepare for your shelf exams while giving you a head start on Step 2 prep.
NBME® mode should be used if you are strictly using our Step 2 product to prepare for the Step 2 CK exam. It’s as close as you can get to the real exam experience and mirrors the USMLE software.
The “Link” icon at the top of your user dashboard allows you to carry over all active learning materials you created from a previous UWorld subscription (if the subscription was active within 1 calendar year). Simply select the QBank you want to transfer resources from.
A 4-to-8 week dedicated study period is fine for most medical students. However, many students choose to start earlier now that Step 1 is pass/fail and Step 2 is weighted more heavily in residency selection. We suggest taking a self-assessment to determine your readiness and then figuring out your study schedule from there.
HMD iQbank Step 2 CK practice tests feature four 60-minute blocks, with each block consisting of 45 multiple-choice questions not found in our QBank. This mirrors the real USMLE, which is divided into eight 60-minute blocks with up to 45 questions in each.
HMD iQbank Step 2 CK self-assessments provide a 3-digit score and Equated Percentage Correct (EPC) score. 3-digit scores are estimated based on percentage correct, percentile rank, historical student data, and similar factors. This information is also used to generate an EPC score that shows students the percentage of content they’ve mastered.
Yes, we have started incorporating more “H&P-style” (i.e., history and physical-style) questions into our Step 2 QBank. These questions simulate the experience of reading a patient’s chart, and are in response to the NBME adding questions of this style to the Step 2 examination. The explanations for these questions are arranged in the same style as other HMD iQbank rationales.
